Nikolas from Ringsend, is a 2nd year student at NCAD currently studying a Joint Honours Fine Art Degree, specialising in Media and minoring in Visual Cultures.
He works extensively with technology and is fascinated by what has been achieved, what can be achieved and how it can be used to promote change and growth.
The core kit for this project includes an iPad Pro, laptop, projector, DSLR and electric piano. Nikolas also uses a variety of software tools for producing both music and creating video footage for his work. Nikolas is focussing on projection mapping for the Dockers and Demons Festival which involves visual techniques that project images on surfaces, mainly buildings.
Projection mapping can also be done on any object, and is popular for advertising on vehicles, window displays, sculptures, curtains and people.
Nikolas also composed the music piece 'Elemental' that accompanies this video.
